Employment

Salaried employees, not subcontractors.

Every chauffeur on a Swiss Limousine Service booking is a full-time salaried employee, registered with Swiss social security, paid above minimum wage and with health-insurance contributions covered. We do not subcontract Geneva pickups to gig drivers, app-based fleets or external operators — including during peak weeks like Watches & Wonders, WEF Davos and the February ski holidays, when many competitors quietly fall back on freelance fleets.

This single employment status is what guarantees consistent service quality, training continuity, and accountability. A salaried chauffeur arrives every Monday with the same standards as on Friday; a gig driver does whatever the next platform pays best for. It is also the reason gratuity is genuinely never expected — our chauffeurs are not earning their living from tips. Clients who insist on tipping are welcome to do so, but the expectation is zero, and any tip stays with the chauffeur in full.

Our hiring process takes weeks per candidate. Beyond the Swiss professional transport licence (D1 or 121), we verify a clean criminal record, request driving-history records, contact at least two professional references, conduct a road test on the Geneva-Verbier or Geneva-Chamonix route, and run a background check that includes residency status and tax compliance. We hire on annual contracts with a six-month probation; chauffeurs who pass become long-term team members, and the average tenure on our active roster is more than seven years.

Continuous training

Annual recertification across five disciplines.

Hiring is the start, not the end. Every Swiss Limousine Service chauffeur completes annual training in five areas. First, defensive driving on autoroute and mountain roads — including emergency manoeuvres, ice-and-snow recovery, convoy spacing, and protocols for police outriders. Second, alpine-winter certification specifically for the Verbier, Zermatt, Gstaad, Courchevel, Val d'Isère and Chamonix approaches, with chain-fitting drills under timed conditions.

Third, hospitality protocol — luggage handling, opening doors, addressing principals, conversational discretion, food and beverage service for V-Class long missions, and silent presence during business calls. Fourth, NDA and confidentiality drilling, including identification of risk situations (press shadowing, tailgating vehicles, social-media exposure of locations) and the standing protocol when these occur. Fifth, vehicle technical recertification on each Mercedes model, including newer driver-assistance systems and any updates to onboard amenities.

Each module is delivered by external specialists where appropriate — Mercedes-Benz Geneva for technical recertification, ex-protection-officer instructors for defensive driving, hotel-school faculty for hospitality. Recertifications are tracked in personnel files and a chauffeur whose certification has lapsed cannot be assigned to a booking until completion. The total annual training investment per chauffeur is between forty and seventy hours, paid time, on-roster.

NDA & confidentiality

Discretion is baseline, not premium.

Confidentiality is the operating standard for every booking, not a paid extra. We sign written non-disclosure agreements at no surcharge, and the chauffeur on the assignment counter-signs before pickup. The standard NDA covers identity of the principal, locations visited, conversations overheard inside the vehicle, and any business or personal information incidentally disclosed. We do not photograph clients, do not post about pickups on social media, and do not discuss bookings outside the dispatch–chauffeur–client triangle.

For sensitive engagements — diplomatic principals, banking M&A, family-office protections, public figures during crisis windows — additional protocols are available on request: smart-casual chauffeur dress code instead of the standard dark suit, decoy-vehicle dispatch (a second SLS car as decoy), multi-stop departures from the FBO or hotel to obscure the final destination, pickup timing adjusted to avoid press windows, and route variation across consecutive days for principals with recurring patterns. None of these add a surcharge; they are part of the operating capacity we maintain because clients have asked for them.

Trusted by discerning travellers.

This was probably the nicest airport transfer experience I ever had. I sent a request to 3 or 4 different companies to compare prices and Swiss Limousine got back to me within 6 hours, with details of the service and exact cost. I had to request some adjustments due to the fact that I was travelling with some equipment and they were able to accommodate. At the airport our driver was extremely professional, nice, and helpful. There was complimentary water and the car itself was really clean and well-ventilated. I would only ever pick this company again when I need an airport transfer in Geneva.

I used Swiss Limousine on 4 occasions on my last trip. Booking was quick and easy. Pricing is competitive and the booking process was simple. Our driver Alex always arrived ahead of time. His service and professionalism were excellent. Alex definitely went the extra mile in anticipating all our needs. Swiss Limousine will be my go-to limo provider for all my future trips.
